Welcome to the AC Direct Instruction Tutorial page.
There is no particular format, I have simply added resource that will help as I find or create them. Please enjoy!
Moving from DC to AC is hard very hard!
The following is three 15 minute videos that explain how to move from DC to AC.
I have found that most AC students hang onto the concepts of DC too tenaciously. Only a very small part of DC will help you with AC. So try to hold onto DC loosley. AC is very different for two reasons, firstly the science/physics is nothing like DC and secondly, the maths, most students have never encountered.
DC to AC part #1 explains how DC is represented on a number line and graph. These maths tool can be used to add and subtract voltage sources.
DC to AC part #2 shows what happens when a circuit has voltage that do not have simple positive and negative polarities.
DC to AC part #3 is an example of “real” voltages around a series AC circuit and how the can be added to find the applied voltage and its angle.
